A Look Back and the Road Ahead for 2025
If 2024 marked Paces's year of progession, then 2025 promises to be the year of expansion. We’ve ended the year with a lot to celebrate—from securing our Series A funding round in June to rolling out industry-changing product updates that help customers develop clean energy projects faster.
As founders, we find it deeply rewarding to look back on our journey, celebrate milestones, and chart the path forward on our vision to solve climate change via optimum land use. This year, we invite our customers and friends to join us in reflecting on 2024’s achievements and exploring what’s next for Paces.
Looking back at 2024
We started 2024 with ambitious goals, including raising our Series A to scale our mission of accelerating grid-connected clean energy projects. The first half of the year was packed with conference presentations, panel discussions, and behind-the-scenes work to ship major product updates.
By the summer, we had successfully closed an $11 million Series A funding round led by Navitas Capital, with participation from Suffolk Technologies and MCJ Collective and existing investors Resolute Ventures, Soma Capital, and Y Combinator. This achievement, made possible by the support of our customers and investors, has fueled our ability to grow the Paces team from 11 to 30 full-time employees and set the stage for an exciting new chapter.

On the product side, our engineering and product teams delivered an extraordinary 108 updates to the Paces platform, including major new features like Permitting Predictor, Automated Environmental Reports, and an expanded Custom Dataset Portal. These features embody our core philosophy of delivering value to our customers: acquiring and cleaning messy, unstructured datasets to identify key permitting, environmental, and interconnection risks earlier in the development process. For example, our one-click Environmental Reports reduce the time required to identify environmental hazards from weeks to minutes.

Our "Paces Wrapped" data underscored our impact in 2024. Over the year, 7,439 searches were conducted, identifying 40,710 five-star sites. Paces data also powered our new Renewable Energy Trends series and contributed to a whitepaper co-authored with Stripe and Scale Microgrids on how off-grid solar microgrids can power AI, providing value to the broader renewable energy industry.
2025 Roadmap: Advancing Clean Energy Innovation
As we set our sights on 2025, our roadmap reflects both feedback from our customers and our ongoing commitment to advance renewable energy projects and enable rapid electrification.
Introducing Paces Fractional Development Services (FDS)
One of our most exciting developments for the year ahead is the launch of Paces’ Fractional Development Services (FDS), a new offering designed to bridge resource gaps and help developers accelerate projects to Notice to Proceed (NTP).
FDS leverages our proprietary data and hands-on expertise to tackle three critical development areas that often cause expensive project delays:
- Permitting: Streamlining and expediting permitting applications confidently.
- Interconnection: Navigating and completing interconnection applications seamlessly.
- Environmental Reporting: Delivering verified environmental impact studies efficiently.
With FDS, developers can address bottlenecks head-on, driving projects forward faster and more effectively.
Expanding Unique Data
In 2025, we’re expanding the number of unique datasets for our Permitting Predictor and Environmental Reports products. We’re also excited to enhance our platform with features like Advanced Filtering and Site Status Tracking, enabling users to manage their projects with greater ease and flexibility.
Advancing Climate Solutions Together
We remain committed to collaborating with industry leaders to address the challenge of meeting the significant load growth driven by AI and data centers with clean energy solutions. In 2025, you’ll find us at key conferences like DCD Connect New York, ACP Siting and Permitting 2025, and RE+, where we’ll engage in critical conversations with thought leaders and foster collaboration.
Our 2025 Resolution
As we look ahead, we’re filled with gratitude for our customers, colleagues, and everyone who has supported Paces along the way. Together, we’ve made incredible strides toward accelerating clean energy infrastructure.
This year, our shared resolution is clear: continue building the tools, data, and partnerships that empower a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Here’s to another year of progress and impact.
